THE CONCEPT
The Interdisciplinary Program (IDP) is a yearly project that gives students from varied disciplines the opportunity to collaborate on a short film project under the tutelage of professional filmmakers. Students work together in an extracurricular setting, giving them experience to apply their skills in a professional film production setting. The IDP is the first film program of its kind to exist in the state.

THE PRESENT
There is not a film program at Weber State University. The IDP Project is the closest experience that WSU students can get to a real film school. Two-thousand eight was Foursiteƕs first year to complete an IDP Project. The film was a dance-for-the-camera titled, "Unveiled".

THE VISION
As this collaboration with WSU faculty and students gains momentum, additional training and certifications can be offered to augment current media programs offered at the University. The natural growth and development of this relationship Has the potential to result in the establishment of a film school at Weber State with a film studio used as a campus extension located in Ogden.

A film school will encourage the development of a motion picture studio. With both a film school and studio, the greater Weber County area will be primed to receive part of the growing motion picture industry in Utah.

The Utah Film Commission reports the motion picture industry brought $108 million to Utah in fiscal year ending 2007.
