IDP

A program designed to bring students at universities together from more than one department in a collaborative film project. This peogram teaches students how to apply their learning to the film industry and use their skills to add to the creative process invilved in filmmaking.

Students are paired with film industry professionals who act as mentors to help them see how their skills can be applied to film. Each year the IDP Project will premiere at the subsequent Foursite Film Festival.

YOUTH WORKSHOPS

Youth workshops are design to encourage higher education. Life principles are taught and applied through the art of filmmaking. Regardless of the students' desire to work in the film industry, they will be encouraged to seek out their dreams and work to acheive success in whatever they decide to do in life.

During workshops, students will work in groups to complete short films that they can take with them. At the completion of the workshops, a premiere is held so the youth can show off their hard work.

SCREENWRITING COMPETITION

The screenwriting competition is also a series of screenwriting seminars that are connected to several writing groups in Utah. The competition is designed to find short screenplays to be used as projects for Foursite to produce.

In 2009 a screenplay from the fall 2008 competition will be selected to be produced by the next IDP group of students. This program will link the IDP directly to the Foursite Film Festival.

OTHER TRAINING

The executive director of the Foursite Film Institute is an award-winning director and professional editor. In addition to being an adjunct professor at Weber State University, he also runs his own production company.

Foursite hosts Final Cut Pro Training seminars presented by Weynand Training International. People who complete these trainings can become Apple Certified Professionals.

Internships are also available to those who wish to gain training to augment their education the areas such as graphic design, post production, sound, photography, writing and editing.
