THE CONCEPT
Ideas need to be put to paper. The screenwriting series will be an interactive set of workshops and seminars designed to educate people on all aspects of take a screenplay to production. Part of bringing those stories to production will be a competition. The winner of the competition will get his or her film produced by the upcoming IDP students. Writers will collaborate with the directors and producers to bring their creative vision to life.
THE PRESENT
In 2007 Foursite brought David Trottier, author of "The Screenwriter's Bible", to teach a screenwriting workshop. In 2008 we are hosting our first screenwriting seminar with a screenplay competition. From the competition we will select the script for this year's IDP Project, which has its world premiere each year at the Foursite Film Festival.
THE VISION
Close your eyes and imagine a group of Utah-based screenwriters entering the film industry with screen credits. Their opportunities will be compounded by the fact that they have a film to show for their hard work.
As these films become more ambitious, Foursite will take on more ambitious projects. Eventually feature films will be developed and marketed throughout the world and will showcase the professional talent of Utah filmmakers. This will give the world more and more reasons to come here to make their films. |
