MORE ON THE WORKSHOP:

The purpose of this program is to give the students the opportunity to explore their academic, artistic and career options and to encourage them to seek higher education. Called the Youth Summer Film Workshop, this enrichment program will be offered to the students as a benefit of a producer level membership with all materials and supplies provided by the Institute. The only prerequisite to taking the workshop is a good attitude and an interest in learning new ways to explore creativity.

We at Foursite Film Institute are prepared to take the lead in our community, to work collaboratively with our Community Partners, to cultivate new partnerships and to avidly seek funding from our community businesses, organizations and agencies, to develop programs designed to specifically address the needs of our students and their families.

As residents, as educators, as community leaders, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life in Ogden and creating an environment built around the cultural and visual arts in a way heretofore unmatched in any other city in northern Utah and perhaps the state. Your students will be the face of that culture. The principles they learn at Foursite workshops can be applied to any area and will encourage them to seek higher education no matter what field they choose to enter.

This two week workshop will result in the completion of a short film. This film will have it’s world premiere at the Dinner and a Movie event at the Ogden Arts Festival, June 12. All parents are encouraged to attend this event to support their young students.

This workshop will focus on group collaboration and teamwork. This character building experience will greatly benefit them in any aspect of life. While the students will be expected to be punctual and diligent in their work ethic, they should also expect to have a large amount of fun. Creating art and telling stories should always be enjoyed throughout the process.

Weather your child is interested in acting, music, cameras, illustration, graphics, lighting, sound or editing; there will be a place for them at this workshop.

MURRAY TRIPLETT

JAMES HENDERSON

James Henderson began writing screenplays over ten years ago. He will take the students through a dissection of one of the most famous movies ever made and explain how it has changed the way screenplays have been written ever since.

He will then guide the students through a lesson on writing effective screenplays.

CRAIG NYBO

is one of the founders and the program director of the Gangrene Film Festival, an annual comedy festival held every fall in Layton, UT. Even though his focus is on comedy, he also has an extensive background in lighting and building a well-crafted picture. Mr. Nybo will give a hand-on lesson on how to produce a good picture using light.

GREG JOHNSON

SCOTT C. HALFORD

As a professional, Halford established the non-profit Foursite Film Institute for film education, production and exhibition. He teaches video production and motion graphics at Weber State University. Scott has over 50 short films to his credit.
